Hello, you lovely people !

As expected, the salmon arrived when requested (and considering I had done my usual late night order two days before, I think this is marvellous !) and was received with the usual delight by BOTH mother and mother-in-law !!
Thank you..... I wonder if anyone will ever send ME some (I should email the link to my husband, shouldn't I ??!!) One can hope !!

Dear Mike

Thank you for sending the gift to the Revd on time for his birthday yesterday. He is a remarkable "young" man who was 87 yesterday and we have been friends with him for years since my husband met him when he was working in Kenya for 2 years with VSO - Bernard spent all of his working life in Africa and hated having to retire at 75 and return to UK. He does still lead the odd service except that now he is having problems with his leg. He phoned us last night to say that it's the happiest day he has had for a very long time. He had lots of visitors from the church and was thrilled to be able to share his goodies - the Dundee cake did not last the course! It was a total surprise and obviously a great success. This is a man who has given his life to the poor in Africa and still gives all of his church pension to Kenya, managing on his state pension. He never buys himself luxuries - Im just so glad it was such a great success.
