In the late 18th century onwards, Whitehaven in Cumberland was one of the busiest ports in England. Many new and exotic speices found their way to our shores via the port and some became established products in the traditional Cumberland sausage. The original centuries old recipe is still used to produce a 95% meat product - entirely free of modern preservatives and colourings. Combine these qualities with the finest shoulder pork and you end up with something special.
